Oak & Sparrow Productions is a Chattanooga-based film and animation studio founded by Andrew Hansen in 2024. We create meaningful films through a process built on listening, trust, and thoughtful collaboration — helping every client feel seen, heard, and understood.
The Story Behind the Name
The Oak and the Sparrow.
My wife, Sydney, calls me her oak tree — a reflection of the safe, dependable space I strive to create for her. I call her my sparrow because she has brought so much joy and hope into my life. She is my heart and the inspiration behind so much of what I do.
When I founded Oak & Sparrow Productions, those names felt like a natural expression of the kind of company I wanted to build: steady, personal, hopeful, and filled with meaning.
That sense of meaning has always shown up in the details. From handcrafted wooden wedding invitations to custom wax seals that Sydney and I designed together and personally poured and stamped, we wanted small but intentional details—something personal and distinctly ours.
That same thoughtfulness is at the heart of every project Oak & Sparrow creates. Every detail should have a purpose, and every story should feel true to the people behind it.
Meet the Filmmaker
A lifelong love of storytelling.
I have been creating stories for as long as I can remember. As a child, I built them with LEGO bricks and homemade videos starring my siblings. In my teenage years, I began writing. By my early twenties, I had discovered the power of telling stories through film.
What drew me to filmmaking—and what continues to inspire me—is its ability to do two things at once: move people emotionally and communicate ideas that carry lasting meaning.
Today, I bring that love of storytelling to interviews, documentaries, healthcare films, animation, and other projects that help people understand, connect, and care.

From our first conversation through final delivery, I take time to understand what you need, why it matters, and how you want your story told. You should feel seen and heard, never like another project waiting to be completed.
Sydney remains an important creative sounding board, often helping me shape and refine a film before it reaches a client. The goal is to build lasting relationships with people who know they can depend on Oak & Sparrow whenever another story needs to be told.

Oak & Sparrow Productions is based in the greater Chattanooga, Tennessee, area and primarily serves clients throughout the surrounding region. We have also traveled across the United States for projects and are available when the right story takes us farther from home.
